Hi,

I'm trying to publish an Excel add-in via the ClickOnce Deployment on the publish wizard and getting an error of "Invalid algorithm specified" when I attempt to publish (the message box that appears has a title if AddinExpress.VSPackage).

I can run and debug the add-in fine, it's only when I come to publish the add-in I get an error. I am using Visual Studio 2019, I was able to publish it fine from Visual Studio 2017.

Apologies if the description above it a little vague, please let me know if any further information would help!

Hi,

Thanks - I'm now using a certificate the supports SHA-256 but still getting the same error. Could there be another cause of the error?

Hello Rob,

We've tried doing this using our certificate: this works. Do you have your certificate installed to the Certificate Store? If, you use a file, it's extension should be .pfx.

I am selecting it from a file and yes it does have a .pfx extension.

Create a Windows Forms application project and try to publish it using your certificate. Does this work?

Could you please send us any file signed by your certificate? You can find the support email address in {Add-in Express installation folder}\readme.txt; please make sure your email contains a link to this topic.

Thank you, Rob.

Start Micirosft Managment console (mmc), choose File | Add/Remove snap-in to see certificates. Expand Certificates - Current User | Personal. Right-click Certificates and import your certificate. Specify that your project is signed using the certificate from the personal certificate store. Does this work?

I'm afraid that still isn't working! (Incidentally - I just tried and I am able to publish from Visual Studio 2017 using that certificate.)
