Error 1001 Unable to get installer types

Hi

I am getting the following error on some machines when installing my add-in:

Error 1001. Unable to get installer types in the ...\OfficeAddIn.dll assembly. -> Unable to load one or more of the requested types.

I have read the post http://www.add-in-express.com/forum/read.php?FID=5&TID=600, but the instructions aren't very clear:

I appear to have to include the Office.dll v.7.0.3300.0 in the target folder and the GAC. Where do I find this dll? The one included in the Add-In-Express install (in folder Interop Assemblies) is v 2.2.0.0, and causes an error when I replace v 12.0.0.0 in my solution.

Please also clarify
Is this assembly put in the add-in target folder

Do you mean that it must be added to my Setup project?

Your speedy reply will be appreciated!

Thanks

Martin

Hi Martin,

You can read more about the office.dll http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328912.

Hi Eugene

This doesn't solve my issue. Please answer the questions posed in my post.

My add-in targets Office 2007.

This issue is urgent as I have users who are unable to install my add-in.

Thanks

Martin

Hi Martin,

Please note that we apply the rule "first in first out" with Premium Support Service subscribers taking priority. Please understand it may take us some time to do research on the issue.

Do you mean that it must be added to my Setup project?

A regular ADX based add-in setup project contains the following:

* add-in dll
* interop assemblies
* adxloader.dll
* adxloader.dll.manifest
* other Add-in Express dlls such as AddinExpress.MSO.2005.dll

Hi Martin.

Please send your project. We will test it.
You can copy the office dll from the global assembly cache.

Hi Sergey

Thanks, but I will require that you sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before I can send you the code, would that be OK?

Anything I can try on my side without having to send the code?

Thanks

Martin

Hi Martin.

Of course, we will sign the NDA if you send it.
Also, could you please send me a screenshoot of your project shown in Visual Studio? You need to expand the References section of the add-in project and the Detected Dependencies section of the setup project before you take a screenshot.
