I have a COM add-in that has a toolbar in Excel and also uses the COM automation add-in technique to add a few UDFs to Excel. Opening Excel with a blank document pops the Microsoft "Security Warning" with the message

Title: "Security Warning"
"C:\Program Files\MyAddin\adxloader.dll" contains macros.

Macros may contain viruses. It is usually safe to disable macros, but if the macros are legitimate, you might lose some functionality.

[Disable Macros] [Enable Macros] [More Info]

User is running Office 2003 Excel.
Alt-F11 reveals no VBA code in the workbook, and we're not using/installing any VBA code in the workbook.

What could trigger this message? How could Office 2003 think that adxloader.dll contains macros?

I'll appreciate your ideas on this issue,
Regards,
Claudiu

Hello Claudiu,

You should enable macros support. Please check up the Security settings.

Yes, that solved it,
Tool->Macro->Security...
Then in the Security on the "Trusted Publishers" tab I checked the "Trust all installed add-ins and templates".
If this option is unchecked on Medium security settings you get the warning messages.

Many thanks,
Claudiu
