Hi,

Hi hove can I programmatically add/remove master outlook categories.
I need solution compatible with outlooks (2000,2002,2003,2007)
Is it possible to do with the help ow ADX office PIA

Hi Volodymyr,

Outlook 2007 provides the Categories collection. In the other versions of Outlook you have to edit OS registry.

To get the job done you have to edit the following hive of the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Categories

Here I listed Outlook 2003 related path. Change the number in the path according to Outlook version.

Also note that the MasterList key will be available if you add custom categories in the Categories collection in Outlook.
