Hello,

I have a problem with some add-ins im building. I created a very basic one that pop a messagebox on the StartUp event.

When im installing it on Vista, the installation goes successfully. Then when I open Outlook the add-in is not loaded.

In the "Com Add-ins" window I see my plugin there but its unchecked to load on startup. When I try to check it, I get an error : "Not loaded. A runtime error occured during the loading of the COM Add-in."

Any idea anyone?

What do I need to do in order that this box get checked after the install process?

Technical infos :
Outlook 2007 version 12.0.4518.1014
Vista Entreprise Edition

Thanks

Carl

Hi Carl.

Please turn UAC on and reboot the PC. I think it should help.

Is there a way to get a log of what goes wrong when the addin is loading?

I get a message telling there is a runtime error that occured.

I tried to enable Logging in Outlook but the informations I get are not helping me. Can the addin produce a log file when an error occurs?

Thanks

Ok turning on the UAC did the trick, but the application should be able to run with UAC turned off. What does UAC do that prevent the addin from working? Im new to Vista and I dont understand everything that UAC does.

Thanks

I am afraid it is not possible.
Please read the following article (see the 'Registry Entries for Microsoft Office 2003 Add-ins on Windows Vista' section):
