WiX Installer Boilerplate
Can you explain it so I can add it manually to a separately created WiX project?

I know it's possible to use a wizard to generate the setup, but I want to understand how to add the steps manually to a separately created WiX project. My product has many moving parts, and not all of them belong to the same solution.

WiX seems immensely flexible, and with that immense flexibility comes immense complexity. Your WiX Designer looks like it could be a real help, but it doesn't seem to support VS2022 yet, or I would probably invest in that today. For now I'm doing it the old-fashioned way and want to understand the manual steps.

Hello Bob,

Check section Creating a WiX project; see the PDF file in the folder {Add-in Express}\Docs on your development PC. It may not be structured in the same degree as section Creating a Visual Studio Installer setup project manually; this one lists the complete set of steps in the "language" of Visual Studio Setup Projects - you'll need to "translate" them to WiX.
