Old Project Doesn't want to load

aloha, all:

I used add-in express about 3 years ago to build a COM add-in for Microsoft Excel and Word. It has worked quite nicely for my client for these three years.

However, I wanted to make a change to the add-in and I seem to have forgotten nearly everything. When I open the project in VS 2017, I build it and get no compile errors. When I run it, MS Excel fires up, but the ribbon does not appear. No errors.

The project was built in VS 2015, but apparently that was a trial version that "expired". So I'm using VS 2017 Community. It says that add-in Express is loaded, but I don't see any special toolbars or menu items. the only visual indication that Add-In express is loaded is that the ADX templates are available.

Any ideas?

I believe that for now you can disregard this post. I did find the Add-in express menu by right-clicking on the project icon. I registered the project and then it loaded.

Thanks!
