VSTO add-ins for command bars use COM add-in in Excel?
Want to use add-in express for Excel command bars w/o 'COM Add-ins'

I am trying to decide if this product is the right one for us.
We are developing an Excel application with Code-behind in
VSTO. I am able to manipulate the command bars (e.g.
Application.CommandBars["Cell"] for context menu etc.). I would
rather use your product to do it in an easier way but without
the COM 'Add-ins' in Excel.

My question is: Is add-in express providing a packaged way to do
the same thing as above without COM add-ins (preferred)? Or is
it using COM add-ins for all the supported features therein?

Hi Prashant.

The Add-in Express .NET product implements the IDTExtensibility2 interface and it is loaded as a COM add-in by Office appliations.

The Add-in Express .NET for VSTO product is a component that can be used in VSTO applications only.
