I am trying to find the best way to animate an icon on the ribbon in Outlook 2010+
The way I am doing it now, is to set a timer, and on tick, change the icon to a different image, and run for so many images and then repeat.
Is there a better way, as this seems to not always work smoothly, and makes the ribbon become jittery.

Hello Joseph,
There's no better way.
I wouldn't do this however. The problem is this. Changing the image (it's a property of the corresponding Ribbon component) results in calling the Refresh method. How the Office application handles this method depends on the workload. In other words, delays are possible.
