Hello

In Outlook 2016, when I minimize a right docked panel I've a large blank space between the preview panel and the minimized panel :

This work fine in Outlook 2013:

Do you have any idea on what's happen ?

Outlook v16.0.6925.1018
ADX v8.0.4330.2005

Hello Fabrice,

Sorry for the delay; we were checking our options. The issue is caused by a restriction in the Outlook 2016 which makes changing the size of the pane impossible. The docked regions of Add-in Express are based on custom task panes; in Outlook 2016 the minimum pane size is doubled (compared with previous Outlook versions).

Ok
This is not something really critical, but it would be nice if you find a solution because the users minimize the panel to gain some space, and this space is really useful i.e. on tablet.

Alternatively, is there a way to completely redraw the minimized panel ?
I.e. use this space to finally display some information to the user, so this space is not completely lost.

Thank you

Hello Fabrice,

We can't minimize the pane due to the Office restriction mentioned. You can set the size of the pane to any value (>=144 pixels) and draw anything you need. I wonder if I understand you correctly.

Yes, almost
Except that I want to use the normal minimize button (on the upper right), and then redraw the content of the panel:

User added an image

I want to redraw the yellow square
Without interfering with other tabs that could appear below the "Dashboard" tab, if other add-in are installed and docked right.
Do you think its possible ?

(Of course I could remove the minimize button and put my own button to minimize/maximize, then resize the panel accordingly. This will works, but it'll then change the user habits to minimize via the upper right button)

Hello Fabrice,

Please have a look at https://www.add-in-express.com/creating-addins-blog/2016/05/31/customize-appearance-excel-task-panes-outlook-regions/. To draw in the yellow area you need to override the OnPaint method.
