Hello all. I've read a few other posts stating that it is not possible to run Add-In Express extensions on a Mac because Office on a Mac does not support the COM infrastructure.

However I just came across this article saying that Microsoft is adding support for Add-Ins on a Mac:

Does this mean that the Com infrastructure is now supported? If so, any chance to get my Add-Ins running in Office on a Mac?

Hello Jason,

That article is about Office add-ins, see http://dev.office.com/docs/add-ins/overview/office-add-ins. Add-in Express based add-ins are COM add-ins and COM is required for them to function. Since Mac doesn't support COM, Office for Mac doesn't support COM add-ins.
