Hi,
we tried to upgrade to Version v605-b3057 of Add-In Express 2010 for Office and .NET Pro.
Unfortunatly we always get the same error. After half of the progress we got the error that:
"There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor"
After the error the installation is rolled back.

In the MSI Log file is only one line:
Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action: _1689870E_2E80_464B_BAB4_64706C74AAF6, location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Add-in Express\Add-in Express for .NET\Bin\ADXTBOInstaller.2005.exe, command: ADXOLFM Install ExtractFile encrypt "C:\Program Files (x86)\Add-in Express\Add-in Express for .NET\Bin\Encrypt.exe"

The system is a Windows 7 with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. UAC is enabled.
After searching the forums i found an old topic which described the same problem. Unfortunatly the fix was to try a new version.

Hi Robert,

I have a bunch of questions for you:
1. Do you run the setup.exe (not msi)?
2. Did you uninstall the previous version of Add-in Express before installing a new one?
3. Please check out the following windows registry hive HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Add-in Express. Does it contain any records? If so, please try to remove them (don't forget to save a copy before).
