To Shim or not to Shim

To Shim or not to Shim
why does this cause the Addin to not appear?

When I select to create a shim when building an add-in - the Add-in is not present in Outlooks OM Add-ins. When I opt to not use a shim, it appears in the COM Add-ins.

Can someone please assist in how to resolve this?

Should I not use the shim option - does this not ensure a compatible solution?

Hi Dave.

Do you change something in the add-in project (e.g. dll name of the add-in or shim) after it has been generated by the ADX Wizard?
