Hello support,

i have the same issue with the designer setup in comparison the addin .net installer. The setup finished with the error message that the installer interupted before ending installation process. This is the same message which is reported for the .net addin installer.

I could install the .net addin after i complete deinstall Visual Studio 2022 (i had both installed 2019 and 2022) but now i run into same problem with des wix designer. Currently there is only VS 2019 and Addin Epxress 10.0.47 installed.

The event view shows an error for

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Setup\x86\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration.Native.dll

corrupt module.

Hello Daniel,

This occurs on Visual Studio 2022 version 17.1.x.

Two workarounds exist.

Before installing the WiX Designer:
- Uninstall VS 2022 v.17.1.x and install the older version 17.0.6.
- Replace Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration.Native.dll with same dll from VS 2022 17.0.x. For example, from version 17.0.6.

Find 17.0.6 at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/releases/2022/release-history.

Hello Andrei,

i tried your proposal and deinstalled VS 2022 and reinstall VS 2022 17.0.6. But the same error (..interrupted installer..) and the "..corupted module C:\.....*Native.dll) in the event view is visible.

The 17.0.6. local installation is not shipped with a "Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration.Native.dll" to replace it on C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Setup\x86\

Hello Andrei,

I've been following along on this issue and decided to try things myself. Unfortunately, the latest version of the "Designer for WiX Toolset" installer I have is designer-for-wix-v200-b411-pro.zip which does not yet know about Visual Studio 2022. Can you provide a link to a newer version that supports vs2022?

Visual Studio 17.1.2 brings no changes to this behaviour
