Hi,
Vista and windows 7 added the integrity level for each process. when using an IE in vista \ win7 with UAC (and Enable Protected Mode = true) the IE addon runs as a low integrity level process.

In this case i can't communicate with another process using my WCF named pipe method.

Now i have a client that turn the UAC on and my addon don't work. what is your recommendation about communication with anther process (not another addon in an other process, just another process) form IE addon with UAC?

Hi Omri,

In http://www.add-in-express.com/creating-addins-blog/2009/06/26/ie-addon-interact-standalone-application/, we mention:

There is just one limitation: both processes (IE with your add-on and standalone application) must be running in the same Integrity Level.


I doubt that it is possible to bypass this.
