Hi,

Im a bit of a newbie.

I have created a word / outlook addin . The outlook side of things work great but i have had a fair amount of issues with the word version in the 2.4 .net 2005 version with Word 2003.

In particular when i close word i get the following error

" Word cannot save changes to the global template because it was opened with read-only access, Do you want to save the changes in a template with a different name"

If i do not save the toolbar disappears , if i set the command bar to temporary it re-appears but looses it location in the menu bar that the user moved it to.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Andrei,

As you probably know, MS Word stores all settings of command bars, menu bars and their controls into the Normal.dot template. So, it is the Word behavior by design. You can either remove read-only access from your Normal.dot or use the temporary command bar and temporary controls, and try to save and restore its location using your own code.
