Sorry to ask this question here (not directly related to addins), but you seem to be very skilled in Office OLE object interfaces / parameters.

Is there a way to force Word to ignore the windows "hide extension of known file types" option ?

With this Option enabled, if I try WordApp.FileOpen('test.doc') it fails, where WordApp.FileOpen('test') is OK and this is very annoying feature, I don't want to change the name of the files depending on some windows parameter !

[of course real file name is 'test.doc' and not 'test']

Hi Stephane,

Please try to use the Open method of the Documents collection. As far as I remember this method has always worked regardless of the Windows settings.
