Outlook 2000. I have two new buttons for the file menu. They go on the file menu perfectly at the end. I want them just after Open (ID 30125) but cannot get them to go there because it appears that ID 30125 does not exist when ADX tries to create the buttons.

If I click on the menu, ID 30125 then becomes available. Do you know of a way I can force Outlook to initialize all its buttons on the file menu before ADX tries to create the buttons?

Thanks

Hi Roger,

I have just tested a little test example with Outlook 2003 SP1. Works fine. May be the problem exists in Outlook 2000 only. Could you please test the example below on your PC.

No. It doesn't work in Outlook 2000. The buttons always appear at the end of the menu if one uses AfterID or BeforeID with ID 30125.

BuiltInControlsScanner.exe does not find ID 30125 until I've clicked the file menu.

Hi Roger,

I have just tested the add-in with Outlook 2000. You are right, immediately after startup there is no Open sub menu there (ID 30125) and it seems Outlook 2000 creates these items dynamically. I think you can try to handle the CommandBars.OnUpdate event and move your buttons where they should be.
