Anything "new" on Add-in Express 2007 for Borland VCL?
For people not yet developing for Office 2007, that is!

Hi.

I'm not yet developing for Office 2007 because it's so radically different which means that it's best to try things there and I don't yet have it nor am I planning on getting it anytime soon... (Not many people are using it, so I don't loose many possible customers by not targeting it yet!).

Is there anything new in 2007 edition for developers like myself that aren't yet targeting Office 2007? I've browsed around the site and forums and could not see this kind of info...

Add-in Express 2007 for VCL includes all the functionality of the previous version plus Office 2007 features. And, of course, Add-in Express Extesions for Microsoft Outlook.

For non-2007 developers, we fixed bugs, extended add-in deployment features by allowing non-administrator installation, and added consistency to the Advanced Outlook Regions.

For those, who plan to support Office 2007 in their add-ins, I'd note that we added components that generate Ribbon user interface (via XML mark-up) on the fly. And custom task panes.

Look like we implemented a full set of things you will need to customize Office 2007. Am I wrong?

Sorry, "non-administrator add-in installation" is available in Add-in Express 2007 for .NET only.

Thanks for the info. I'll stick with my version for a while longer and hope I don't run into one of those bugs fixed as I'm on a tight budget for now. I will eventually upgrade to 2007, just trying to find out if it was worth it doing right now or if I can delay that a couple months.
