Hi,

I notice your Demos show use of VB. I have VB.Net 2003. Do I also need to have C++ installed to work with your tool? I'm interested in using it for Outlook.

Thanks.

If you want to develop add-ins in Managed C++ you should have C++ installed on your PC.

You can visit the HOWTOs and Toys sections on our web site and download C++ examples.

Hi Guest,

you do not need C++ VB.NET 2003 should do it fine.

I'm using Visual C# 2003 Standard, so I have no C++ too, it's working fine.
However you can not create a Shim without C++, but I think Afalinasoft is providing a service for there customers to create the Shim for them.
Best regards,

Thank you, Sven.

Yes, C++ is required for "shimmed" projects. And you can send us your project to get a compiled shim if you don't have C++. We haven't announced this secvice yet but we will do this in the near future.

Actually, I have VB.NET 2003 Standard edition which does not seem to have the extensibility stuff either in the other projects directory. Will I still be able to use your tool. Thanks.

Add-in Express will allow you to develop add-ins, smart tags and rtd servers but you need C++ (Standard or higher) to use shims for your projects.
