Where is the Excel Task Manager?

I am using Add-in Express 2009 for Microsoft Office and .net - Premium with VS2008 to build an Excel add-in.

When I add a custom task pane, I get a message saying "You must add the Excel Task Manager", but I can't find the Excel Task Manager when I Add->New Item to the Addinproject.

Any suggestions?

Thanks and regards,
Maurice

Hi Maurice,

Please find the excel task pane manager in the context menu of the add-in module designer. Also you can find the http://www.add-in-express.com/creating-addins-blog//2010/07/01/custom-task-panes/ on our technical blog.

Yes, I watched the video.

The problem is that the "excel task pane manager" *ISN'T THERE* in the context menu.

I suspect that it's there in 2010 but not in 2009?

Hi Maurice,

That feature was introduced in Add-in Express version 2009.

OK, introduced in 2009, fine. But as I've already said twice, where is it?

EDIT: I've installed 2010 6.1.3044, same picture, still no Excel task pane manager
P.S. I have the source, should I build ADXExcelTaskPanesManager?

RE-EDIT:  smiley doesn't work either *sighs and smiles*

Ah, I see, thanks.

I can't add an Excel Pane and Task Manager to my XLL addin, I have to create a separate Excel-COM addin. Right?

Maurice,

Yep. But please have a look at the http://www.add-in-express.com/creating-addins-blog/2010/03/24/addin-xll-rtd-one-assembly/ article on our technical blog.
