Weird Setup behaviour when installing to roaming profile machines

Hi,

We're having an odd issue with one client site which uses network-based profiles for their Windows users. The profiles are *not* stored locally, so when the installer starts from Setup.exe they get the message in the linked screenshot:
http://programx.me.uk/media/p/120.aspx

This is before the Setup software itself pops up. This occurs no matter what the privilage of the user. As it is in the VS Setup template, we're a bit lost as to how we can correct this.

Do you have any ideas? Failing that, how can we go about installing our toolbar 'manually'? I take it we would need to copy files and run regsvr32 a few times?

Hi Nathan,

What version and build number of Add-in Express do you use?

You can try copying files manually and using the regsvr32 (just pass the adxloader.dll as a parameter) tool to register the add-in. Please let me know whether it works.

Thanks Eugene,

My build number is 4.3.1910.

I shall try the manual install method shortly.

Hi Eugene,

Have just:

* Made sure toolbar was not installed
* Copied files over to empty installation folder
* Run regsvr32 adxloader.dll from installation folder (Import succeeded)
* Run MS Outlook.

The Toolbar appears briefly, then disappears. The toolbar does not appear in the right-click toolbar menu, is not in Disabled Items but is installed (and ticked) in COM-Addins.

Seem to be nearly there, but how can we make it "stay"?

Also, do you have any idea of the original Setup problem?

Thanks for your help. Your support is very good.

Oh, by the way, this is on an XP SP2 box (at client and here).

Hello Nathan,

Please try installing the latest build of Add-in Express - http://www.add-in-express.com/downloads/adxnet.php. Don't forget to replace the adxloader.dll in the Loader folder of your project with a new one.

Hi,

The latest build now works on the client site.

Manually installing the DLL's and regsvr32-ing adxloader.dll also works fine.

Thanks for your help, once again.
