Hi

I ask because I want to use the repair function of msi to install an update of my product instead of uninstall/install.

However I think I need some reset settings. Is it possible to do this while repair only?

What action is done by MSI when it performs an repair? Does it uninstall the old files or just copie the new files?
Does it even registers them?

Best regards,
Sven

It is necessary to perform a repair only in case when some file were corrupted after the product installation.
To update the product it is better to use uninstall/install actions.
