Is this normal behaviour.

I create a document based off a template other than normal.dot. For instance, I create a new fax from Business Fax.dot. Then I install my AddIn. Now, I open the document when I try to close Word, it asks me if I want to save the DOT the document was based on for instance the Business Fax.dot. My users are complaining about having that question asked of them.

Hi John.

I can't reproduce the issue.
What version of Add-in Express do you use? Is the template 'ReadOnly'?

P.S. Note that we take up your forum requests in the order we receive them.
Besides, it may take us some time to investigate your issue. Please be sure we will let you know as soon as the best possible solution is found.

I just tried installing the latest vesrion that's on the website and it is telling me that the activation code is for a different product. Do I need to get a new activation code for the 2007?

Thanks.

Hi there,

I was just about to pose the exact same question as John. Clients are having the same issue with our addin too based on ADX version 2.5.1759.0.

It doesn't happen on all computers, i.e. on my dev PC it doesn't happen but it does on my laptop for instance.

Looking forward to a response on this issue.

Regards,

Mike

Andrei, thank you for the code.

Now after compiling the Add In with the new 2007, I get an error when bringing the Office applications up. I get error -2146234304. Is the something in GAC that could be causing this problem?

Hi John.

Did you copy a new version of the adxloader.dll file from the Add-in express installation directory to the Loader subdirectory of your add-in project? You also need to re-register the add-in.

Hi guys,

Just checking are you still supporting the version of the ADX components that we're using? (Version 2.5.1759.0)

At this stage our clients are still on Office 2003 and aren't planning to upgrade so I don't think I can move up to the latest ADX version.

Do you have any idea why the problem we're discussing in this topic occurs?

Hi Mike.

The issue may occur if the .dot file has the 'ReadOnly' attribute.
We support old versions of our products but we fix bugs in the latest versions only.

Thanks Sergey,

Glad to hear about your commitment to supporting the product.

I've had a look at the attributes of the .dot file and it isn't read only. Any other ideas?
