VISTA - Custom Actions hang installer
Installer hangs at the end of install when installing on Vista machine

I am using adx version 2.6.1760 in VS2003. It seems the Custom actions created by Addin Express will not allow an install on Vista. It has something to do with the user permissions in the UAC on vista machine. Any work around for this yet?

Hi Todd.

In Vista you always should use the setup.exe file to run the .msi installer. Otherwise, the installer with managed custom actions always hangs.

Hi Sergey,

Tried using setup.exe to run the msi installer with same results, installer hangs at end. I am logged in as sdministrator on the vista machine.

Hi Todd.

Please try to use the ADX loader. It 100% works.
I suppose you use the latest Add-in Express version v3.2.

Hi Sergey,

I went to your downloads page and tried to download adx professional version 3.2 - I get an error at the very end of the download. Is your server having problems, or am I doing something wrong?

Todd, I have just downloaded the 'adxnet-v302-b1865-vs-pro.zip' archive from our website. It works fine. Please try to download it again.

Hi Sergey,

Just tried again to download 'adxnet-v302-b1865-vs-pro.zip' and got an error at 23.1 of 23.3 MB copied. Specifically, the error says:

Internet Explorer cannot download adxnet-v302-b1865-vs-pro.zip from www.add-inexpress.com. The connection with the server was reset.

I also tried using firefox...same results.
