Unknown application exception thrown when opening Excel

Hello,

This error is happening at a single client location. They are using Excel 2016.

The exception is thrown by AddinExpress.MSO.2005 and the message is : "Unknown application". The Target Site is: SetHostApplication.

How do we fix this?

Hello Pierre Alain,

Is this issue reproducible? In what scenario? Does the user preview files in File Explorer? Is Excel started programmatically?

The user is getting this error when starting Excel. The add-in has been installed for a while and he's been getting this error for the last 2 weeks, he says.

He is running Office 365. I asked him to do a repair of his installation and reinstall the add-in, but he is still getting that same error.

We have not reproduce this error and this is the only customer having this issue.

Is it possible that they have EXCEL.EXE hanging in processes? Also, please answer my questions above.
