I have the same problem as Shawn Hickey in the topic Multiple User Installs a while ago (follow link below)
http://www.add-in-express.com/forum/read.php?FID=5&TID=677&MID=3226&phrase_id=303092#message3226

Sergey emailed the solution to him and I'd like to have a solution to this problem also.

Hi Jacco.

Do you use the latest ADX version (v2.8.2763)?
Have you read our 'Deployment Guide' document yet?

Hi Sergey

We use 2.6.1760.2003 (2003 version).

I'll search for the deployment guide on the site, cause i don't see it in our install directory.

Jacco, please upgrade the ADX product up to v2.8 here:
http://www.add-in-express.com/downloads/
You will find the 'Deployment Guide' document in the ADX installation directory.

Hi Jacco,

Can you please confirmed if this worked?

Just that I upgraded, and updated the adxloader.dll in my project and setup project, but have yet to get my setup project to install succesfully.

Hi,

an update. I updated the installer's version number, productcode and upgradecode and it now appears to work.

I upgraded because the latest version of ADX appears to fix your original problem. I write 'appears' because I have not had my latest installer verified by our system testers but I am guaging success by the fact that the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\<MY ADDIN> key now gets populated (RegisterForAllUsers = true). What is strange now though, is that even though my add-in loads and works fine for me, my list of COMAddIns in Outlook doesn't contain anything! So it is one less piece of information to establish whether the install worked or not on a remote client machine.

Sergey, can you explain this please?

Harry,
please read the article below to learn why COM add-ins may not be displayed in the COMAddIns dialog:

Hi Sergey,

That explains it. Thanks for your swift response. I will have to check the registry to see if the installation worked on a remote client machine.

A further update after system testing.

On my development machine, both the HKLM and HKCU keys are populated.
On 2 non development machines, only the HKCU key is populated. The accounts used when installing onto all 3 machines are network accounts and all have local admin rights.

Sergey, can you confirm you have tested the fix on XP Pro SP2 non-development machines? Can successfully run an outlook add-in after logging on as a non-admin user?
