Hello

We get the exception "COM object that has been separated from its underlying RCW cannot be used?Â?Ð?í exception."
If this exception once is fire, it is permanent every time we access the HostApplication property of the AddinExpress.MSO.ADXAddinModule (which is of type Excel._Application).

The error can be reproduced:
1) Create an addin for excel that contains a COM AddIn and a XLL AddIn.
2) Register the AddIns with adxregistrator in user context
3) Manually deactivate and activate the XLL AddIn two times from the Excel Add Manager.
4) The error occurs if the COM Add access the HostApplication property of the AddinExpress.MSO.ADXAddinModule.

What do we have to do to prevent the error.

best regards
Dirk

Dirk,

Is the issue critical for you?

Yes but it is related to other tickets I created. The goal ist that, we need a robust way to install our addin in many circumstances. (terminal server, Citrix, with restricted rights ..). Any "strange" behavior is not acceptable and does not match our quality policy.

Dirk,

Do you need to have a fix for this now? Or, this issue may wait for some time?

Dirk,

Most probably we won't be able to provide a fix today. Tomorrow will be the earliest.

Hello Dirk,

In a minute I'll send you an email with a download link for a non-public Add-in Express build that fixes the issue for us. Please install that build and let me know if it fixes the issue for you.
