ATC4.Detection in Updaer.exe

Dear Andrei,

we have several clients, who cannot install our EXCEL AddIn as a virus "ATC4.Detection" is found in the alera.updater.exe The Virus scanners used are T-Online and also Symantec.

Do you have any idea how to avoid this?

Your suggestions are highly appreciated.

Hello Michael,

Make sure that you digitally sign your add-in using a valid certificate, that both SHA-1 and SHA-256 are used. It is also recommended to specify time-stamp servers.

I assume you publish the add-in using the Publish dialog. Is this assumption correct?

Also, you can verify your updater using virustotal.com.

Ah, also, make sure you use version 9.1, not 9.0.

Dear Andrei,

as a first step, I tried to update to Version 9.1.64620 (professional) from 809 4453 and got an ERROR - Wrong License Code.

The license name I am using is alera international Pte Ltd

I checked the license key in the forum page/Profile/My Subscriptions and found that I use the correct one.

Kindly advise what to do.

Dear Michael,

The point is that version 9 is a major upgrade and it requires a new license key. The new key was e-mailed to you right after the new version’s release. Probably, our e-mail got blocked by your spam filter or did not reach you for some other reason.

Anyway, we've just added the new key (AXN9P-...) to your user account. Please use it to install version 9.

Thank you very much Svetlana for the new license key.

I could now install Version 9.1 however


I see AddIn Express in The program and Features list as version 9.1.4620
I find the ADX components in Project/Add New Item
I DO NOT see AddIn Express in VS Help About as an Installed product
There is NO Publish tag on the right click on Project and NO AddIn Express item
There are also no register and unregister tabs
So I can build the project but NOT publish, register or install it.

I did the installation twice but no change.

Please help

Hello Michael,

Please close all Visual Studio instances and try to execute this command line:

"{path e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Professional\Common7\IDE}\devenv.exe" /updateconfiguration

Then start VS 2017 and check the About dialog.
