I'm having trouble getting any image to appear on my Excel addin commandbar buttons. I'm using a 16x16 256 colour (32bit) png image saved with a transparency. I've also tried other formats with no luck. All examples I have seen seem to get an image appearing. I'm using an image list set to 32bit and setting the button image on the control.

Any suggestions?

Hi Scott,

Please fill the background with a color (e.g. Fuchsia) and set this color in the ImageTransparentColor property of your buttons. I think it should help.

I've got an image now but it's a mess.

I used a megenta (255,0,255) back ground. I think it's something to do with the colour depth and the palette or something...

:(

I've fixed it. It's all to do with the colour depth and transparency. And I was setting the image list transparency to magenta too, which is wrong.

Try to remove all images from the ImageList and add them again. And don't change any properties of the Imagelist component. Just leave them by default.
