Notification when Outlook closes

Hi,

I have a problem with an addin that runs some synchronization tasks with an external software in a dedicated task.

I would like to get a notification from Outlook when the user (or an application) wants to close the instance of Outlook that is running my synchronization task. And then be able to stop the closing process if the user does not want to abort the synchronization task.

I tried many things but I could not find any solution that didn't make Outlook crash in a way or another.

Thanks for you help,
Regards,
Stéphane

Hello Stéphane,

Thank you for your question.

Please note that we provide consulting on using MS Office objects, their properties and events for premium subscribers only. We hope you do understand that we cannot provide support for all programmers that develop for all ten applications supported by Add-in Express.

By default, we support our components only and do not answer questions like "how to trap new mail in Outlook", "how to handle DocumentBeforeSave in Word", etc. However, you can always upgrade your subscription to the premium package to get a high-level support from us. In this case we will not only answer all your questions but can investigate the possibility of realizing your goals and prepare code examples. You can find the complete list of all premium support service options on the support page.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Stéphane.

A simple solution is to use the ExplorerClose or Quit events of Outlook. Did you try them?

Hi Sergey,

No I didn't try that but it sounds to be a good idea. I found an example in VCL. Do you have on example for .NET?

Can you upgrade your subscription to the premium package?
In this case I will develop any examples you need.

Hi Serguey,

How much will it cost for me to upgrade to the premium package?

Hi Serguey,

I have now purchased an upgrade to the premium package. Where shall I explain you precisely my problem? Shall I send you a mail? or go to another forum?
