Good afternoon,

We're looking at what's involved to port our many years old .NET4.8 application to .NET 6/7/8 - so the question is - is there, or is there going to be, a version of the MS Outlook Security Manager for .NET 6/7/8? As a NuGet package?

Or is that not necessary? Can we simply "just" use the existing DLLs?

Thanks,

Dr. Michael Dye.

Hello Michael,

We don't have plans on releasing such a version. Sorry.

I suppose you will not be able to use a .NET Framework assembly in .NET 6-8.

Thanks Andrei,

So far we're just starting out on this and it's a huge can of worms :) There are quite a few bits of the .NET 4.8 that won't go through to .NET 6 - many of the custom controls we've used are no longer available. So we're working on what we *really* need to do and haven't got too far. However I am able to "just" reference the secman DLLs in the new .NET 6 project; no complaints from the compiler yet - but the code doesn't run (a long way off from that) so we've no idea what that really means.

Appreciate the info re new version and we'll carry on trying and let you know when we know...

Ta, Michael.
