Hi,
I have downloaded Release 2010.6.2.1030 of the Security Manager 2010 for Microsoft Outlook, ActiveX Edition today. I have successfully deregistered the old versions of the components. But when I execute the setup, I get error message: "An error occurred attempting to install Security Manager 2010 for Microsoft Outlook, ActiveX."
This is the content of the install.log file:
The following properties have been set:
Property: [AdminUser] = true {boolean}
Property: [ProcessorArchitecture] = AMD64 {string}
Property: [VersionNT] = 6.1.1 {version}
Launching Application.
Using MsiInstallProduct with package path 'C:Userssixkes.JJKDOMDesktoposmax-v602-b1030osmax-v602-b1030.msi' and command line ''
MsiInstallProduct returned '1638'
Error:

Hi JJK,
The error 1638 means that another version of Security Manager ActiveX is already installed.
Please uninstall your current version of Outlook Security Manager via Control Panel -> Programs and Features and run the installation again.
Also, please note that you need to run the installation with administrative permissions.
Did it help? |

Hi,
there was no entry in the control panel. This was the reason why I manually deregistered the old components. But I was able to uninstall the old version when I started the old setup program. There I got the option to uninstall the old version.
Thank you for your help. |
