IE6 & Java Applications

I am having intermittent problems with Add-In Express for IE crashing IE 6 when it tries to open a Java applet. I have a very basic test addin that does nothing except gets loaded with IE. When this is enabled if I try and open a web page that has a Java applet it crashes IE, if I disable or remove the addin it works fine.

This is happening on about 2 of 12 machines that have this installed. Each machine is identically configured with the same version of software.

OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
IE: 6.0.2900.5512.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100427-1636
Addin: 6.4.379.0 (also does the same thing on v6.4.377)

This is the event log entry that gets generated

Hi Ben.

Can you please give me a link on the page with the Java applet?

Sorry I can't as the application is installed locally on our customers site.

Ok. Can you prepare an example that reproduces the issue? Probably you can send me an installation of a test Java applet.
