Security Manager - reasons for osmSecurityGuardNotFound
At one installation my software is reporting osmSecurityGuardNotFound

My software calls SecMan.Check(osmObjectModel) on startup and disables some application features if the result is false.

At one location SecMan.Check is reporting osmSecurityGuardNotFound. Under what circumstances is this likely to occur?

I am still trying to get more information from the client via the reseller but, in the meantime, could you give me some ideas on the likely causes?

Hi Roger,

As far as I remember only the Outlook 2000 and the Outlook 2000 SR1 don't have Security Warning Guard. Could you please let me know what Outlook version the client has.

I am still waiting for the client to get back to me. I'll let you know as soon as they tell me.

Are you saying that Outlook security is effectively already disabled in Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2000 SR1?

Does this mean I can ignore the error in these version?

Hi Roger,

It seems I was not clear enough. Outlook 2000 without service packs and Outlook 2000 with SR1 don't have Security Warnings because when these versions were released the Security Guard didn't exist at all.

Yes, you may not disable security in these Outlook versions (Outlook 2000 without service packs and Outlook 2000 SR1 only).
