Locking down Outlook Security Manager

How does the Outlook Security Manager prevent other software from using it? My concern is that if I want to use it with just my aplication, but other programs(email worms) start looking for this component, that they will be able to use it too, thus putting my users at risk. How do I lock down the Outlook Security Manager to only be used by my application?

Hi Guest,

The current version doesn't provide such a feature. But it is great idea.
Thank you for your suggestion. We will discuss your idea.

Hi Dan,

Of course, we have some results but it's to early speak about the final result and a public version.

Does OSM VCL edition also have this downside?

Since one of the applications of OSM is to aid in developing add-ins, that is, create add-ins that don't pop up the security box, do you have any plans on making OSM integrate with existing add-ins instead of requiring an additional DLL to ship with? That is, a unit that one includes in one's add-in express outlook add-in and gets compiled into the same DLL as the add-in?

I need to know this as I'm currently using your excelent add-in express to create my own outlook add-in, but I don't want to force users into installing anything else on their computers, especially something that "may" be exploited (this would prevent my outlook add-in from being used in many companies computers).

Later,

Hi Fernando,

I am afraid we don't plan to integrate the code of Outlook Security Manager into the Add-in Express code in the near future.
