Buttons disappear
After several starts, buttons start to disappear from commandbar

I just upgraded my project to the latest Basic version of ADX. I wanted to modify an existing project and discovered that all normal toolbar buttons start to disappear after several starts of the host app (Word only Add-In in this case). Only my DropdownLists stay on the CommandBar, all else is gone.

Here are my specs:
O2k3 SR2
Delphi 7 Enterprise
RegisterForAllUser False
Temporary False
Protection adxMsoBarNoCustomize

I am desperate. Any ideas?

Hi Timo,

What Add-in Express version did you use before upgrading? How did you add your custom controls, at design-time or run-time? Did you change the OfficeTag property? What other COM Add-ins do you have installed in MS Word?

Design-time only. But the add-in disables two controls (buttons) at runtime.

Did you change the OfficeTag property?

No.

What other COM Add-ins do you have installed in MS Word?

Several: Two or three of my other ADX Add-Ins (created with version 2 and 3), MapPoint, Nokia Phone Suite, Acrobat 8.0.

Any idea?

Hi Timo,

Please try to temporary disable the MapPoint and Acrobat add-ins.

i did disable them. But to no avail. The buttons still disappear. I tried to narrow down the problem by removing all my code. After several starts of Word, the buttons still disappear.
Should I test the Add-In in a VM to check if it is a word problem?

Dmitry,

thank you for your help. After several trial and error, I found out that the Adobe Toolbar was not disabled correctly and is the cause for the problems. I uninstalled it and everything is fine now. Thanks again!
