What is included in a product?

Each Add-in Express product is available in two or three subscriptions: Standard, Professional and Premium. Each Subscription includes a lifetime developer license and subscription to technical support and free updates (minor or minor and major). A subscription may also include some other services, please see the Subscription comparison table for more information.

For example, the Add-in Express for Office and .net, Professional includes one lifetime developer license of Add-in Express for Office and .net, 1-year subscription to technical support service and 1-year subscription to minor and major updates.

Must I pay for updates as new versions of the product are released?

All minor updates are free. For example, if you have Add-in Express for Office and .net, version 6.0, you can upgrade to version 6.1 for free. Professional and Premium subscriptions also include 1 year of free major version updates. After your subscription has expired, you can upgrade to the new major version for half of the new license price. You can find all available upgrades on the Upgrade page. For example, you can upgrade from Add-in Express 2009 to Add-in Express 2010 for Microsoft Office and .net, Standard for USD 174.50.

Is your license on a per-developer basis?

Absolutely right. Each developer who uses Add-in Express product must obtain a license. With this license, the developer can install the product on a primary machine and a portable / laptop.

Do you provide site / team / corporate licenses?

Yes, we have a flexible system of discounts (from 10% to 50%) for team and enterprise licenses. Please tell us how many developers are supposed to work with our products, and we will advise you on the license that best suits your business needs.

I am an individual who wants to purchase your product for development - but there is someone at my company who occasionally backs me up in my job function. Must we purchase an additional license for that person as well?

Yes, you need an additional license. All our products are licensed for a developer seat, that is why you need to purchase a license for that person.

Can I install the product on 2 machines, e.g. a desktop in the office and a laptop or a home desktop?

Absolutely right.

I have a build server. Do I have to purchase a license to the software for a build machine?

If no development is performed on the build machine and its sole purpose is to generate actual builds of your products, then no, you do not need to purchase a separate license for the build machine. If however a developer uses the build machine for active development and this developer does not have a valid license to the products, then yes, he or she must acquire a license to said product.

Do I have to pay you royalties if I use the Add-in Express product to develop my application?

No, you don't. All Add-in Express products are royalty free.

I plan on modifying your source code. Can I do that and redistribute the modified libraries?

You can modify our source code for internal purposes of your company only, naturally if you purchased the Add-in Express product delivered with source code. This does not apply, however, to situations in which you are modifying our code to create any tool, redistributables, or software product that directly or indirectly competes with Add-in Express. Please consult our EULA for more information.

Can I transfer my license to another person or organization?

Yes. Please contact us with your registration code and we will promptly arrange the transfer.

Purchase process

How quickly is the software delivered?

The delivery is instant for credit card transactions. You will receive a confirmation e-mail with a download link and license information once your order is processed, normally it takes just a few minutes. If you use other methods of payment (Switch/Solo, bank/wire transfer, cash, check, PO), the product will be delivered upon receipt of your payment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

What forms of currency do you accept?

We accept any currency that can be converted to USD :-) All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars and Euro, but you can also pay in your local currency if your bank converts your money to USD, EUR, Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Japanese Yens, Pound Sterling or Swiss Francs.

Subscription renewals and upgrades

What sorts of upgrades are available?

We provide 2 types of upgrades:

  1. Subscription renewal. If your subscription has expired, but you want to continue getting technical support from us, you need to renew it. When you purchase a new Standard subscription it includes 60 days of tech support service; when you upgrade or renew your existing Standard subscription, it includes 1 year of Standard support service. Professional and Premium subscriptions always include 1 year of technical support.

    When you renew your subscription, you automatically get upgraded to the latest version of the product. Subscription renewal costs 50% of the product price. Here is the Subscription renewal page.

  2. Cross-subscription upgrade. You can upgrade from the Standard subscription of the product to the Professional or Premium subscription of the same product for the difference in price. Cross-subscription upgrades are available within the latest version of the product only, e.g. you can upgrade from Add-in Express 2010 for Office and .net, Standard to Add-in Express 2010 for Office and .net, Professional for USD 100.

I have purchased one of your products in the past, and would like to upgrade my product. How can I do this?

If you want to upgrade to a minor version, you can do it for free. For example, if you have Add-in Express for Office and .net, Standard, version 4.0, you can download and install any newer minor version 4.x. If you want to upgrade to a major version, you can do it with a 50% discount.

If you want to get free upgrades, you may consider purchasing a Professional or Premium subscriptions that include all minor and MAJOR updates for a period of 1 year.

If I purchase a certain subscription now, can I upgrade to a higher subscription later?

Yes. You can do it at any time by simply paying an upgrade cost, which is the difference between the cost of your current subscription and the cost of the wanted higher-level subscription. For example, if you purchase the Add-in Express for Office and net, Standard subscription($349.00) now and want to upgrade to the Professional subscription($449.00) later, you will have to pay $100.00. You can upgrade via the Cross-subscription upgrade page.

Are upgrades available to purchase from any previous version?

Absolutely right. For example, you can upgrade directly from Add-in Express 2007 for Office and .net to Add-in Express 2010 for Office and .net.

Are upgrades available to purchase from a different edition of the same product?

Yes. For example, you can cross-grade from Add-in Express 2009 for Office and VCL to Add-in Express 2010 for Office and .net with our regular 50% upgrade discount. Just select the needed product on our upgrade page and enter your current license key, it will be accepted.

Are there upgrades available once the version has been discontinued?

Yes. For example, we have discontinued the Add-in Express for Office and VSTO product, however all existing customers can upgrade to the latest version 2010.

When a subscription is included with the upgrade, will a new annual subscription commence the date the upgrade is purchased?

What is a Technical Support Service subscription?

We provide a flexible and cost-efficient choice of three support levels to match your needs, starting from a 60-day of technical support service included in the Standard subscription to 1-year of Premium support service, wide-ranging solution research service and code reviewing included in the Premium subscription. Are there subscription renewals available?

Yes. If your subscription has expired but you want to continue using our technical support service and other benefits, you can renew your subscription at half of the regular product price. Here is the subscription renewal page.

Yes, they are absolutely the same.

Is there any time limit for renewing my expired subscription?

No time limit. You can purchase a renewal any time.

Can I continue to use the product once my Technical Support Service subscription expires?

Absolutely right. You can continue to use the product that you purchased. You will not, however, continue to receive the additional benefits of our Technical Support Service Subscription (such as technical assistance, major product updates, etc.).

Trial versions and money back

How can I get a trial version?

We do not trial versions of our product at all. Instead, we guarantee an unconditional 30-day money back, so you can buy our products with no risk at all. If you don't like the product for any reason, you will get your money back, no questions asked. However, in some cases we deliver a fully-functional time-limited version of Add-in Express upon request. If you feel this is your case, please contact us. We do not guarantee, however, that we will give this version to you, the final decision is at the sole discretion of Add-in Express Company.
