We are proud to announce the availability of Generation 2008, a new major version of the Add-in Express product line that supports Microsoft Office 2007 - 2000, Windows Vista - 2000, Internet Explorer 6 and 7, and Outlook Express and Windows Mail 6.x. It provides a plenty of new features and improvements. Generation 2008 includes:
- Add-in Express 2008 for Microsoft Office and .NET
- Add-in Express 2008 for Microsoft Office and Borland VCL
- Add-in Express 2008 for Microsoft Internet Explorer and .NET
- Add-in Express 2008 for Microsoft Outlook Express and .NET
The "main" Add-in Express 2008
Remaining fully compatible with version 2007, Add-in Express 2008 (.NET and VCL) provides an enhanced version of the extensibility kernel to improve the Advanced Outlook Regions and to introduce the Advanced Excel Task Panes (Excel 2000-2007). The .NET edition also provides full support for Visual Studio 2008, .NET Framework 3.5 and WPF controls. ClickOnce prerequisites and the Excel Worksheet API (XLL) are on board, too. The Add-in Express Loader is modified to support add-ons for Outlook Express and Internet Explorer. Finally, the extensibility kernel of Add-in Express .net is redesigned to give you the possibility to include in your Office add-ins solutions the modules of the two new products - Add-in Express for Outlook Express and Add-in Express for Internet Explorer. So, in the framework of one project and, of course, in one assembly you can get one or several Office add-ins, one Outlook Express plug-in and one Internet Explorer add-on with a common code base.

Internet Explorer extensibility with Add-in Express 2008
Add-in Express 2008 for Internet Explorer supports IE 6 and IE 7 and allows you to create your custom IE toolbars, Explorer bars, menus and panes. Of course, you will get access to the Internet Explorer object model and DOM. The Add-in Express Loader makes your IE add-ons secure, isolated and deployable with minimal efforts.

Add-in Express 2008 for Outlook Express is, in fact, a revolutionary solution for Outlook Express plug-in development. For the first time you get a possibility to access Outlook Express objects and events and extend its GUI with your custom OE toolbars, custom OE menus and regions.

Generation 2008 FAQ
Is Add-in Express 2008 compatible with Office 2000, 2002 and 2003?
Absolutely. Add-in Express 2008 is version-neutral and works on all available Office versions.
Is Add-in Express 2008 compatible with the previous version of Add-in Express?
Yes, we guarantee 100% compatibility. You can recompile your project without any troubles. However, if you use the Add-in Express Loader, don't forget to replace a local copied loader with a new one.
Will my current project compile with Add-in Express 2008?
Yes, of course. Nothing has been changed in the Add-in Express API, but some new classes or members are added.
Will my current project be compatible with Office 2000 – 2007 when recompiling it with Add-in Express 2008?
Absolutely, if you don't use version-specific features.
What about 64-bit versions?
We have no plans to release 64-bit versions of Outlook Security Manager and Add-in Express. MS Office stays 32-bit.
