Dear Andrei,

I was a bit too optimistic. On installing the AddIn the Excel AddIn is there but not the Com AddIn. From the logs I see that the registration worked perfect, but then I find an unregistration file 2 minutes later, it looks like this was the time when I opened Excel. I did not start uninstalling the AddIn or unregistering it.

I send you the 2 files on email and I will try another installation.

kind regards

Dear Andrei

I checked in my registry and....I only have 4.0.0.0 installed. So perhaps I was mistaken and when running ADX 8.x only Net Framework 4.0 was required? Would upgrading to ADX 9.x change the Net Framework in my project without me noticing?

So I will install Net 4.5.2 and see

kind regards

Dear Andrei,

when I try to install Net Framework 4.5.2.then it tells me that it is already installed. But the registry in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4.0\Client

only shows v4.0

regards

Dear Andrei,

Done a reboot and a new command line installation.

It works now, however the logfile send to you via email still shows the Net Framework 4.5.2 is missing. Actually in Programs and Features installed updates, I find updates to Net Framework 4.8

Any idea how to make the installation process more stable?

Kind regards

Hello Michael,

I don't understand what caused you to raise the "4.5.2 missing" topic. Did you get this error? If you found 4.5.2 mentioned in the msi log, ignore this text unless the product doesn't get installed. I suppose 4.5.2 is specified as a Launch Condition or a prerequisite of your setup project and the text you see in the msi log is a message text that *would* be shown should you don't have 4.5.2 installed.

Dear Andrei,

in the msixec log "msilogins.txt" which I send you it says

INFO : [11/15/2019 09:35:21:538] [CheckFX ]: MsiSetPropertyW - Setting property 'VSDNETMSG' to 'This setup requires the .NET Framework version v4.5.2. Please install the .NET Framework and run this setup again.'.
MSI © (60!1C) [09:35:21:538]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Modifying VSDNETMSG property. Its current value is 'This setup requires the .NET Framework version [1]. Please install the .NET Framework and run this setup again.'. Its new value: 'This setup requires the .NET Framework version v4.5.2. Please install the .NET Framework and run this setup again.'.
MSI © (60!1C) [09:35:21:538]: Closing MSIHANDLE (3) of type 790531 for thread 7452

However it looks like the installation now works, it would be interesting if you can find anything, why it did not install the ComAddIn with logfile MSLOF04.txt from 8:58 but installed with "msilogins.txt"

However there is another problem. I have published the project without changing any code at all. just instead of ADX 8.x now with ADX 9.x and my Kaspersky blocks it. Checking with Virustotal, 5 engines find different Viruses.

Is there another way than writing to all these about a false positive?

Thank you and kind regards

Hello Michael,

That looks like a message prepared to be shown *if* there's no 4.5.2.

Michael Kaden writes:

It *did* install the add-in in both cases: the installer do not show you an error, right? Also, MSLOF04.txt contains:

MSI © (F0:E0) [08:50:07:552]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: [skip]. Product Version: [skip]. Product Language: 0. Manufacturer: [skip]. Installation success or error status: 0.

It might not registered the add-in while installer was started that time but this requires looking in adxregistrator.log.
