Well... I've add a small measurement to the method... getting Environment.TickCount before and at the end of the method and the difference ranges from 27ms to 23141ms! :O

AFAIK you check if the Commandbars/Controls exists on the new Window/Document and if not add them/reconnect them... right?

But why?
I thought Word is handling all the stuff...

However I hope you will find some solution to speed it up :)

As for the new Window/Document time I should explain this to you. Often Word releases connection points for command bar controls when a user opens a new window and creates a new document. Here we have to reconnect event handlers to their controls. This is the problem.

But we will see what can be done here.

That's really great =)

I fell very sleepy today... I have not slept a lot this week...

However I am still at work... I think at 19 pm GMT+1 the doors are closed...

Do you need some help?
Best regards,

We have created a sample add-in, added 9 command bars and 59 different controls, and ran it.

When I created a new document I noticed nothing. It seems to work. But I think you should test it yourself. I will let you know when we upload the build.

But you should be aware that this is a temporary solution. We need to think it over and do something with a new public version.

Sven,

We haven't noticed this. Our customers do not seem to develop add-ins with such number of controls. Besides, I'm sure that our customers do not create Word add-ins. You are the first with such requirements. :-)
