Cannot hit breakpoints in vs2010
Haven't been able to hit any breakpoints in vs2010 on 2 separate machines

I see. Is this a limitation of Visual Studio 2010 or .Net 4? I can simply hit f5 to debug in Visual Studio 2008 using ie8 and it hits breakpoints.

Hi Brett.

I am not aware of such limitation. But I know that 'attach to process' is more reliable way to debug add-ons written for IE8. At least it always works.

I played around with things some more, and have discovered that everything works fine debugging wise(attaching to process, or hitting f5) as long as you are building for .Net 3.5. If I target .Net 4 the debugging information never gets loaded so no breakpoints are ever hit.

Hi Brett,

Does iexplore.exe.config point to that .NET Framework version?

I to am seeing this issue, I noticed that if I attached to iexplorer and explorer somewhere it eventually tries to load symbols for debugging but says no .pdb was found... Still searching, keep us posted if you find anything.

Hi Justin,

I have a bunch of questions for you ;-)

1. What version of Visual Studio do you use?
2. The target framework of your add-on?
3. IE version? Is it x64?
4. Could you please specify also version and build number of Add-in Express you use?

BTW Did you try to utilize the "Attach to process" option (see the Debug main menu | Attach to process... )?

Eugene:

1. Visual Studio 2010
2. target .NET 4.0
3. IE8 32-bit
4. AddinExpress.IE.dll version 6.2.373.0

I use the 'attach to process' method.

thanks for following up!
