Hi,

We just purchased the Add-in Express .Net edition, we are happy with it! :)

We have added a simple Ribbon tab and a button in word. When we build it and register it from VS2008 ("Register ADX Project") it works fine.

Then we built the Setup Project and installed the add in by starting the .msi file. The add in gets installed without any problems, but when we start Word we can't see the new ribbon tab.
When I click on the Word options/add-ins/Go (Manage: COM add-ins), I get the folowing information about the Add in:
Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in.

We would also like to know if there is a way to register the add in programmatically? We would like it to register the add-in as it is done when we click on "Register ADX Project".
If the above is not possible, is it possible to bundle this setup into another sing .msi file? We already hav an .msi file for our product today, and we would like the Add-in to get installed together with our main product.

Regards,
Samuel

Hello Samuel,

Do you use Vista?
Is your add-in listed in the Disabled Items list?

Please read the "Creating Setup Projects Manually" section in the documentation.

Hi Eugene,
Yes, I'm using Vista.
The add-in is not listed under Disabled Items list.

Hi Samuel,

Is the UAC enabled?

Please uninstall the add-in and run the setup.exe.

BTW Is Outlook up to date? Is OS up to date?

Hi,
The UAC is not enabled on my computer. But I chose the UAC option when I created the ADX project.
Outlook and OS is up to date, even though I only added the button to Word.

Thank you for the quick replies! :)

Hi Samuel,

Did you set up the RegisterForAllUsers property of the add-in module?

Could you send me the adxloader.log file which is typically located in the <My Documents>\Add-in Express folder to the support e-mail address (see Readme.txt)?
