Hi,

I need to re-install my Add-in Express 2010 for Office and .NET, Professional package which I have a license for.

The installation fails after seeing me accept its default installation path with the following message:
* There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personal or package vendor *.

Please note that I have:
- copied locally and unblocked downloaded install msi and setup.exe files
- tried both of them directly and via command line. in each case I attempted my run as an administrator
- my UAC is disabled
- I've already used addin express before, just needed to re-install
- I use Visual Studio 2010

Please could you advise on next steps in order for me to successfully complete Add-in Express 2010 for Office and .NET, Professional installation?

Thank you,
Anna

Hi Anna,

Please enable the UAC (User Account Control) and then run the setup.exe. Does it help?

Anna,

Did you try to activate the product automatically?

I'm expieriencing the same problem during an installation on a new machine.
- Windows 2008R2
- VS2010 Premium
- Manual Activation seems to have succeeded, as second try installation does not require activation again

Hi Oliver,

Please check out the following registry hive:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Add-in Express\ADX NET 2010 Premium

Do you have any records in this hive? If so, please try to remove them. Does it help?
