I am trying to install the add-in express premium ( extracted from the zip file adxnet-v603-b3052-vs-pre.zip ) and am running into issues. When I ran the setup.exe, all was working ok. I entered the Registration name and registration key and then chose Visual Studio 2005 in the choose Visual Studio version. After I clicked next, and after it started the copying process I started getting "Protection Error" with "Error: 253" and "Error: 85" numerous times. Then it gave 3 more errors "Add-in Express .NET Extensions" - "The AddinExpress.OL.2005.dll file is not found. May be you are using the Registration key of another product."

Environment:

Windows XP SP3
Logging into domain
Login has Administrator privileges
Visual Studio 2003
Visual Studio 2005
Visual Studio 2008

This is a developer machine and I mainly work on other 4GL tools. I recently installed all the different versions of Visual Studio because I ended up inheriting some projects that requires different Visual Studio versions (2003, 2005 and 2008).

Also wanted to add that I am just starting with Visual Studio and C# etc. and am a novice at .net technologies. Thanks.

Disabling the anti-virus software did the trick. Thanks Eugene.

Hi Arvindram,

Thank you for your cooperation in solving this issue.

The Premium edition of Add-in Express for Office and .net contains a lot of encrypted source files in its installation package. During installation all these files are decrypted and I think this activity seemed suspicious for your anti-virus software. Actually, it is the first time when we are reported about those errors, normally Add-in Express installation goes smoothly with most of popular anti-virus programs.

Thanks again.
