Hi Guys,

I'm using Addin Express 2010 to build an Outlook Com-addin for Outlook 2010 downwards.

Is your set up project wizard compatible with Installshield 2011? I'm getting the following error when trying to create an install project. Up to now I have used the Visual Studio installer but I was hoping to use some of install shield's additional features.

It creates a Windows installer using the Visual Studio wizard just fine

Hi David.

Is the InstallShield projects integrated with Visual Studio 2010 on your PC?

I can create a new Installshield Project by adding a new project.
I can't create one by selecting Installshield when using the Add-in Express 'Create Setup Project' wizard.
So I guess that means it is integrated.

Hi David,

I have just tested InstakllShield on my PC with Visual Studio 2010. It works as expected. Are you able to reproduce the issue with a newly created add-in project?

BTW What OS do you use?

Hi Eugene,

My Operating System is XP

I have created a new project which uses forms manager to add form to the explorer window in DockRight position.

I tested it by registering the add-in, and adding a project of the 'Outlook 12'.exe and setting it as startup project.

I get exactly the same error when I try to run the wizard.

Are you using Installshield 2010 or 2011?

Hi David,

I have downloaded and installed InstallShield 2011 Professional on a virtula PC with Windows XP SP3. Are you able to reproduce the issue with a newly created (clean) add-in project?

Hi Eugene,

yes I can reproduce the issue on a new project.

I should have been specific - I am using Install Shield express - rather than the full version.

David,

I will try to download the Express edition of InstallShield and let you know the results. Thank you for pointing this to me.

Thanks Eugene,

is there a way I can be notified if/when a fix becomes available?
