Hello,
I have
AddInExpress 2007 for Microsoft.Net, Standard v308-b1891
and
AddInExpress 2007 for Microsoft Outlook .Net Edition v302-b1812
installed on Windows 7 (64bit) with Visual Studio 2008 SP1.
When I attempt to look at the design view of AddinModule.vb file in my Outlook Addin project, I get a dialog with the message "The trial period of Add-in Express .NET is expired."
I found another thread in your fourms that appear to be a similar issue
http://www.add-in-express.com/forum/read.php?FID=5&TID=1473&MID=6772#message6772
The other thread recommends uninstalling / reinstalling Add-In Express to resolve the issue.
I'm unable to determine how to uninstall Add-In Express, it's not listed under Programs and Features in Win7 Control panel, running the Add-In Express setup.exe does not offer to uninstall and if I right-click on the .MSI file in the Add-In express installation directory and select uninstall, I get a dialog that says "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."
How do I uninstall Add-In Express on a Windows 7 (64-bit) machine?
Thanks

Hi Jon,
That message is shown when you use Add-in Express under a user profile other than used when installing it. To uninstall, you need to log on to the the correct user profile.

Is there a way to determine which user profile originally installed Add-in Express?
I'm very sure that it was installed using the same logon account that I am now using to (attempt) uninstall.
Thanks. |

Hi Jon,
That profile has the following registry key: HKCU\Software\Add-in Express\ADX NET {version} {package}. I don't know if any other way exists; I assume there's no such way.

There are 3 user profiles on this dev machine, I've logged in with the account associated to each profile and there is no registry entry for HKCU\Software\Add-in Express for any of them.
I believe the user profile for the account that originally installed Add-In Express may have been deleted and recreated in order to fix an unrelated problem.
Since the original profile is unavailable ...
1. Is there a way to manually uninstall?
2. Would it do any good to try to reinstall the same version of Add-in Express without uninstalling (I have not attempted this yet).
3. If no alternative exists short of wiping the machine and reinstalling everything (not a viable option), What are the ramifications of using Add-in express in this state?
Thanks |

Andrei,
I appreciate your help so far with this issue, however, I'm still stuck. I cannot uninstall Add-In express and have an existing issue with the AddInModule file indicating that "The trial period of Add-in Express .NET is expired."
Can I expect any further help on this issue?
Thanks for your response. |

I reinstalled Add-In Express, the installer complained about some files that already existed but it did finish.
I am now able to access the design view of the AddInModule file so it seems that the reinstall worked.
Thanks for your help! |
