Hello,

i try to install the new update for
'Add-in Express 2008 for Office and .NET'
Release 2008.4.4.1918.

While installation my antivirus-programm 'antivir'
set an alarm of a trojan in this setup.

He found 'TR/Crypt.XPACK.GEN' in Install-OSM.2003.exe.

Can you explain it ?

I've reproduced the issue when installing adxnet-v404-b1918-vs-pre, not adxnet-v404-b1918-vs-std. I'll prepare and send them an e-mail asking them to help us solve the issue.

Hello Nachtigall,

I'm still waiting for their reply. I believe this is a flaw in Avira but in fact I just don't know. When I check the .MSI using their scanner, it doesn't trigger a warning. We use Kaspersky - they state they cover more viruses that any other antivirus software - it doesn't find anything. Still, there's a chance that this is not a false alarm. Let's wait for their reply.

Hello Nachtigall,

After exchanging e-mails and files with the Avira team, I've received the following text from them:

we could not find a virus in the attachment you have sent us.
This is a false positive. We will take out the pattern recognition in one of our next updates.

Hello Andrei,

that's a good answer for me so i can try to update my software:

While updating (adxnet-v404-b1918-vs-pre) i got an exception in a
Messagebox: 'Install.2003'
with the message 'The secmann.dll file is not found in Common Files folder.

The setup rollback !

First i try to install for VS 2003 and 2008.

On second try i checked only VS 2008 but i got the same message for 'Install.2005' !!!!!
