Hi,

A while ago I posted a question about installation under the system context using a MSI and GPO.
The installation hung and the following entry was added to the event log:

Source: MsiInstaller
Type: Warning:
Event ID: 1001
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Description
Detection of product '{901E0406-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}', feature 'OutlookMAPI2' failed during request for component '{9FB5D6605-5989-4BF7-9FFE-345667384830}'

Product {901e0406-6000-11d3-8cfe-0150048383c9} is Microsoft Office 2003 Danish User Interface Pack (MUI).
Component '{9FB5D6605-5989-4BF7-9FFE-345667384830}' is a feature of the MUI.

It turned out that if the MUI was installed with the messaging components marked as "install on first use", the following installation of an Add-In Express add-in would fail.
If you do a complete install of the MUI our add-in installed fine.

Best regards

Soren,

In your setup project, you may try enforcing the requirement to have this component installed. Say, if a certain registry key doesn't exist, then this component isn't installed and your installer shows a message box and rolls back. What do you think?
