Add-in crashes Outlook when double-clicking on email in inbox
When I double-click on an email in the Outlook inbox, Outlook crashes.

This cannot be solved in the general case. Sometimes it is possible to use a VBA macro to demonstrate that the issue doesn't depend on your code. Sometimes, the issue can be solved by changing the order of load for your add-in: you can change the ProgId string in your add-i module. Note that this change requires that the add-in is unregistered; you'll get a mess in the registry otherwise.

What call in your code produces the crash?

I still haven't been able to identify the line of code that triggers the crash. Also, I re-enabled the other add-ins one-by-one, and was not able to reproduce the crash.

Restart Outlook to let the add-in load in the order of their ProgIds. And turn off the add-ins one by one.

To close the loop on this - I found the conflicting add-in. We'll contact the vendor and ask for an updated version (it happens to use your Add-in Express product as well).

This sounds similar to the issue we are experiencing, both being caused by addin express, what steps are you taking to resolve this?

Was there any mention of the other addin name?

SSL,

This was weeks ago, but when I removed my code from the ItemLoad event, that resolved most of the Outlook crashing issue.

The conflicting add-in was Litera MetaDact, which is also written with Add-In Express.

Hope this helps.

Robert.
